The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has unveiled the recruitment notification for the State Civil/Upper Subordinate Services Examination 2026. This initiative aims to fill a total of 67 Group B positions across various state departments.

The online application process commenced on September 9, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications until 11:59 PM on September 29, 2026. The last date for payment of the application fee is also September 29.

According to the UKPSC notification, the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has the highest number of vacancies, totaling 14. There are also 10 openings for Deputy Collector. Other positions include 8 for Assistant Director/Audit Officer, 5 for Block Development Officer, and 5 for Assistant Divisional Transport Officer. Additional vacancies consist of 4 posts for Finance Officer/Treasury Officer, 4 for Assistant Director/Deputy Secretary in the Sanskrit Education Department, 2 for District Commandant (Home Guards), and 2 for Assistant Director (Factories/Boilers). Single vacancies are available for Assistant Commissioner (State Tax), Assistant Municipal Commissioner/Executive Officer (Category 1), Deputy Education Officer/Staff Officer/Law Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, and Horticulture Development Officer (Category 2). The recruitment also includes 5 posts for State Tax Officer and 3 for Case Worker in the Women’s Welfare Department.

Out of the total 67 positions, 37 are reserved for the General category, 13 for Scheduled Castes, 11 for Other Backward Classes, and 6 for the Economically Weaker Section. Horizontal reservations will also be applicable for women from Uttarakhand and activists of the statehood movement.

Salary Structure for Each Position

Most positions fall under Level 10, offering a salary range of ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500. The State Tax Officer position is categorized under Level 7, with a salary range of ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400. The Case Worker role is classified under Level 6, with a salary between ₹35,400 and ₹1,12,400.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

A graduation degree from a recognized university is essential for most positions, although specific qualifications are required for certain roles. For instance, a degree in Commerce is necessary for the Assistant Director/Audit Officer position. A post-graduate degree is required for Deputy Education Officer, Staff Officer, and Law Officer roles. For the Assistant Labour Commissioner position, a graduation degree in Economics, Sociology, or Commerce is mandatory. The Sanskrit Education Department requires a post-graduate degree in Sanskrit or a B.Ed. qualification. A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is essential for the Assistant Director (Factories/Boilers) role, while the Horticulture Development Officer position requires a degree in Horticulture or Agriculture. For the Case Worker role, a post-graduate degree in Sociology, Applied Sociology, or Social Work is necessary.

Selection Process Overview
