UPSC Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 Notification Released



The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the notification for the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the UPSC's official website at upsconline.nic.in. The deadline for applications is September 22, 2026, with a total of 127 positions available for eligible candidates.


Selection Process Overview

The selection of candidates will involve a Preliminary Examination, followed by a Main Examination and an interview. The Preliminary Examination will consist of two papers: Paper-1 will cover General Studies for 100 marks, while Paper-2 will focus on the relevant subject for 300 marks. This examination is set to take place on January 10, 2027. Candidates who pass this stage will proceed to the Main Examination scheduled for June 19 and 20, 2027.


Age Criteria

Candidates applying for the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 must be aged between 21 and 32 years as of January 1, 2027. Relaxation in age limits will be applicable for candidates from reserved categories.


Educational Requirements

To qualify for the Geo-Scientist positions, candidates must possess a Master's degree from a recognized institution in India.


Application Fee Details

Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, along with female applicants, are exempt from the registration fee. However, those from the unreserved category must pay an online fee of ₹200 when submitting their application.
