SSC Hindi Translator Recruitment Announcement
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially opened applications for various Hindi Translator roles. A notification regarding the Combined Hindi Translator Examination 2026 has been released. The application process began on April 23, 2026, and candidates have until May 14 to submit their applications. Interested individuals can apply through the official SSC website.
The deadline for online fee payment is set for May 15, 2026. Additionally, candidates will have the opportunity to make corrections to their applications from May 19 to May 20, 2026. The examination is planned for August-September, with a total of 84 Hindi Translator positions available.

1. Junior Translation Officer (JTO) in the Central Secretariat
2. Junior Translation Officer (JTO) at Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ)
3. Junior Hindi Translator (JHT)/Junior Translation Officer (JTO)/Junior Translator (JT) in various Central Government Ministries/Departments/Organizations
4. Senior Hindi Translator (SHT)/Senior Translator (ST)/Senior Translation Officer (STO) in various Central Government Ministries/Departments/Organizations
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates applying for the Junior Hindi Translator/Junior Translation Officer/Junior Translator and Senior Hindi Translator/Senior Translator positions must hold a Master's degree in Hindi from a recognized institution, with English as a compulsory or elective subject, or as the medium of examination.
Alternatively, a Master's degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, or as the medium of examination, is also acceptable.
Application Fee
Fee Structure:
The application fee is ₹100. However, female candidates, those from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and ex-servicemen eligible for reservation are exempt from this fee. Payments can only be made online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay).
Selection Process
Examination Structure:
The Combined Hindi Translator Examination will consist of two papers. The first paper will feature objective-type questions, while the second will include descriptive-type questions. Candidates will be shortlisted for the second paper based on their scores in the first paper, which is a Computer-Based Examination. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied for each incorrect answer in the first paper.
