UPTET 2026 Exam Dates: The anticipation for the UPTET exam has finally come to an end for countless young aspirants. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) in Prayagraj has unveiled the exam calendar for the recruitment tests in 2026, which includes the UPTET exam schedule. After a gap of four years, the UPTET exam is set to take place in July 2026. Additionally, the commission has shared details regarding the UP TGT, PGT, and Assistant Professor recruitment exams, which many candidates have been eagerly awaiting.
UPTET Exam Dates
Scheduled Dates:
As per the calendar released by the commission, the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) will occur on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026.
Application Process for UPTET
Application Timeline:
The online application for UPTET July 2026 is expected to commence in the third or fourth week of April. Typically, candidates are given a two-month window to apply before the exam. Given the exam dates, the commission is likely to issue the UPTET 2026 notification and open applications in April.
Reasons for Delay in UPTET Exam
Background:
The last UPTET was conducted on January 23, 2022. Initially scheduled for 2025, the exam faced multiple delays due to various factors, including the establishment of a new examination board and administrative changes. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) previously managed the UPTET, but the responsibility has now shifted to the UP Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), which aims to ensure timely and transparent conduct of teacher recruitment and eligibility exams.
New Dates for UP Assistant Professor Exam
Assistant Professor Exam Schedule:
The Assistant Professor recruitment examination is now set for April 18 and 19, 2026. This decision follows the cancellation of the previous exam under advertisement number 51 on January 7 due to irregularities. Over 82,000 candidates had applied and were awaiting new dates after the cancellation. A total of 910 positions will be filled through this recruitment.
UP TGT-PGT Recruitment Exam Dates

The commission has also announced the dates for the PGT (Advertisement No. 02/2022) and TGT (Advertisement No. 01/2022) recruitment exams. The PGT exam will take place on May 9 and 10, while the TGT exam is scheduled for June 3 and 4. The commission assures that all exams will be conducted with utmost security, transparency, and integrity, implementing strict monitoring measures including jammer systems and CCTV cameras at examination centers.
