SSC Stenographer Recruitment Notification Released
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the recruitment for Stenographers. Individuals looking to secure a government position can now apply for the SSC Stenographer roles. The application process is currently open, and interested candidates can submit their applications online at the official SSC website, ssc.gov.in, until May 15, 2026. Additionally, candidates will have the chance to make corrections to their applications on May 20 and 21.

Who Can Apply?
Candidates wishing to apply for the Stenographer Grade 'C' position must be aged between 18 and 30 years. For the Stenographer Grade 'D' role, the age limit is set at 18 to 27 years. The age will be calculated as of August 1, 2026, with age relaxation available for candidates from reserved categories as per government regulations. Applicants must have completed their 12th standard (Class 12) from a recognized educational institution in India.

To apply for the Stenographer positions, candidates are required to pay a registration fee of ₹100 for those in the unreserved category. However, candidates from SC, ST, and female categories are exempt from this fee.
Exam Pattern Overview

The examination will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions, totaling 200 marks, covering areas such as General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and the English Language. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Candidates who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in a Skill Test, followed by Document Verification for those who qualify.
