The South Central Railway has announced a recruitment drive for 2,801 Apprentice positions. Eligible candidates who have completed their 10th grade and possess an ITI certificate can submit their applications online until April 11. This recruitment initiative by South Central Railway aims to fill a total of 2,801 Apprentice roles across various trades. This is a significant opportunity for young individuals aspiring to join the Indian Railways. The recruitment will cover multiple trades, including Electrician, Fitter, Welder, AC Mechanic, COPA, among others. The majority of vacancies are available in the Electrician and Fitter categories.
Candidates must have completed their 10th or 12th grade from a recognized educational board and hold an ITI certificate in the relevant trade to be eligible for these positions. Those who have completed their ITI in a technical field can easily apply.
The age criteria for applicants stipulate a minimum age of 15 years and a maximum age of 24 years, calculated as of March 23, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates from reserved categories as per government norms, with OBC candidates receiving a 3-year relaxation and SC/ST candidates a 5-year relaxation.
For the application process, candidates from General and OBC categories are required to pay a fee of ₹100. However, SC, ST, and female candidates can apply free of charge. The application fee can be paid online via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
There will be no written examination or interview for this recruitment. Selection will be based solely on merit, determined by the marks obtained in the 10th standard and ITI examinations. Document verification will follow for those selected.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹10,500 to ₹15,000 during their apprenticeship. This training period is intended to equip candidates with technical skills that may enhance their employment prospects in the railways and other sectors.
