State Bank of India (SBI) has unveiled an exciting opportunity for young professionals with banking experience. The largest public sector bank in India has issued an official notification for the recruitment of Circle-Based Officers (CBO) for the year 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 2,050 regular positions and 223 backlog vacancies across various regions in the country. Educational Requirements

Candidates must possess a graduate degree from a recognized university. Those with professional qualifications such as Engineering, Medical, CA, or Cost Accounting are also eligible to apply. Additionally, a minimum of two years of experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank is required.


Age Criteria

The age limit for applicants is set between 21 and 30 years, with relaxations available for candidates from reserved categories. Proficiency in the local language of the circle for which the application is submitted is also necessary.


Selection Process Overview

The selection process for the SBI CBO recruitment will occur in four stages. The first stage involves an online examination worth 170 marks, which includes an objective test of 120 marks and a descriptive test of 50 marks. This will be followed by document verification, an interview worth 50 marks, and a local language proficiency test.


Salary and Application Fee

Candidates who are selected will be appointed under the Junior Management Grade Scale-I, with an initial basic salary of ₹48,480 per month. Additional benefits include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), petrol allowance, and medical facilities. The application fee is ₹750 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempt from the fee.
