NEET Re-Exam 2026: Admission Opportunities in Medical Courses Without NEET Score
NEET Re-Exam 2026 Overview
The NEET Re-Exam for 2026 has successfully taken place. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026, which was previously cancelled due to a paper leak, was conducted smoothly on June 21. Over 2.2 million candidates participated in this examination, while the number of available MBBS seats in the country is less than 150,000. A NEET score is essential for admission into various medical programs, including BAMS, BHMS, and nursing. As a result, many candidates strive for high scores in NEET UG, yet a significant number fail to secure an MBBS seat despite scoring well. Additionally, some students do not achieve competitive scores and consequently leave the educational system altogether.
Alternative Career Paths in the Medical Sector
This year, candidates have promising alternatives; they can pursue careers in the medical field without needing a NEET score. For example, students can gain admission to reputable medical courses based on their Class 12 results. Let's delve into the specifics.
Candidates can enroll in 13 allied healthcare courses without a NEET score. These courses are overseen by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP). Here’s a list of these courses:

Changes in Admission Policies
**NEET Score Requirement Postponed**
Initially, admissions for these 13 allied health courses were set to be based on NEET-UG scores starting this year. An official notification was released regarding this, but a revised notification in March indicated that admissions for allied health courses like BPT and BOT based on NEET-UG scores would not be possible for the 2026-27 academic year. This implementation has been postponed to the 2027-28 academic year. Therefore, this year presents the final chance to gain admission to these courses without a NEET score, as universities can still conduct admissions based on Class 12 marks.
