Out of the top 500 rank holders, a significant 365 students opted for this branch, as reported by the Joint Implementation Committee for 2026, which was chaired by IIT Roorkee, the institution that conducted this year's exam.

The breakdown of branch selections among the top 500 students is as follows:


1. Computer Science Engineering: 365 students


- Specifically, 142 students chose the Computer Science program at IIT Bombay.


2. Civil Engineering: Only 2 students


3. Aerospace Engineering: No students opted for this branch.


4. Programs in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics: 17 students.
