The CBSE initiated the registration for CTET 2026 on November 27, 2025, inviting eligible candidates nationwide to apply online. The final date for submission was December 18. Following the closure of the application window, the CBSE also allowed for corrections in the registration details.

CTET After a Year: A Second Opportunity
After the registration deadline, the CBSE received multiple complaints indicating that some candidates could not complete their applications. An investigation confirmed that 161,127 registrations were left incomplete. Given that this CTET is being conducted after nearly a year, the board has decided to offer these candidates another chance to finalize their applications.
Special Registration Window
Apply via Suvidha Portal by December 30
To facilitate those who could not complete their registration for CTET 2026, the CBSE will open a special registration window from December 27 at 11:00 AM until December 30, 2025, at 11:59 PM. During this time, affected candidates can complete their registration through the CBSE's Suvidha portal. The CBSE has urged these candidates to verify their information and make necessary corrections during the final submission, as no further opportunities for corrections will be provided.
Total Registrations Surpass 26 Lakh
Over 26 Lakh Registrations Expected
By the end of the registration process for CTET 2026, a total of 2,530,581 candidates had registered. On December 17 alone, 353,218 candidates completed their registration, while on the final day, December 18, 414,981 candidates registered. Now, with an additional 160,000 candidates receiving another chance, it is anticipated that the total registrations for CTET 2026 will exceed 2.6 million.
