Bihar School Librarian Eligibility Test (BLET) 2026



The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has commenced the online application process for the School Librarian Eligibility Test (BLET) for the year 2026. Candidates interested in taking this examination can submit their applications through the official BSEB website. The application window opened on October 1 and will remain accessible until October 21.


**Exam Structure**


The BLET will feature a total of 150 marks, with 100 marks allocated to Library Science and 50 marks to General Knowledge. Notably, there will be no penalties for incorrect answers. The duration of the exam is set for 2 hours and 30 minutes. To pass, candidates must achieve the following minimum scores: General category (50%), Backward Class (45.5%), Extremely Backward Class (42.5%), and for SC/ST, differently-abled, and female candidates (40%).


**Eligibility Requirements**


Candidates must hold a graduation degree from a recognized institution in India, with at least 45% marks to be eligible for these positions. The age of applicants will be calculated as of August 1, 2026, with the minimum age set at 21 years and the maximum at 37 years. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates from reserved categories.


**Application Fees**


The application fee for the School Librarian Eligibility Test is categorized as follows: ₹960 for General, Backward Class, and Extremely Backward Class candidates, while SC, ST, and differently-abled candidates will pay ₹760.
