Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the release of the first tranche of financial aid, targeting families whose residences suffered extensive damage due to the floods. The primary goal of this initiative is to provide crucial financial support to those in dire need.
### Who is Eligible for the Relief Amount?
Families whose homes experienced significant damage during the floods are eligible for this assistance. In the initial phase, around 75,000 families are set to benefit from this program. Each family will receive ₹15,000 as the first installment. Notably, families from the districts of Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, and Golaghat are included in this relief scheme.

Approximately 1.36 lakh individuals have been affected by the floods in Assam. The districts that have suffered the most include Sivasagar, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Golaghat, and Jorhat.
