Allahabad University has initiated the application process for its PhD programs as of September 25. Candidates interested in applying can do so by visiting the university's official site, allduniv.ac.in. The deadline for submitting the registration form is October 22. A notification regarding the PhD admissions has also been released. Here’s how to apply for admission.


PhD Seats and Admission Criteria

There are a total of 873 PhD seats available across 43 subjects, with 534 seats on the main campus and 339 in affiliated colleges. For the first time, admissions will be based on UGC NET scores, replacing the previous Common Research Entrance Test (CRET) method. Last year, candidates were admitted through the CRET exam for various subjects.

Application Fee for AU PhD Admission 2025

Application Fee:
The registration fee is ₹600 for General, OBC, and EWS categories, while SC, ST, and differently-abled candidates need to pay ₹300.


Selection Process for AU PhD Admission 2025

Selection Criteria:
Admission will be merit-based, evaluated on academic qualifications. The scoring system allocates 120 marks in total: 70 marks for UGC NET scores, 20 marks for academic performance, and 30 marks for the Research Aptitude Test. Previous Admission Method:
In the past, candidates were required to take the CRET exam for admission. Those with NET/JRF qualifications had to clear both Level 1 and Level 2 of the CRET to gain entry into the PhD programs.
