UP Scholarship 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria



  • Applicants must be residents of Uttar Pradesh.

  • Current enrollment in a school, college, or institute is required.

  • Only students in classes 9 or 10 can apply for Pre Matric scholarships.

  • Students in classes 11 or 12 are eligible for Post Matric scholarships.

  • Students outside of classes 9-12 can apply for Post Matric scholarships other than Inter.

  • Aadhar card must be linked to the student's bank account.

  • Previous examination must have been passed.

How to Apply for UP Scholarship 2026-27


OTR: One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory from the 2026-27 session for applying for schemes on the UP Scholarship Portal.


Steps for Registration:


After successful OTR generation, the OTR Number will be displayed and sent to the registered mobile number, allowing students to apply for the UP scholarship.


It is a three-step process:



  • A. Mobile Number Authentication.

  • B. Aadhaar e-KYC.

  • C. OTR Number Generation.


One OTR Number is allowed per student:


If more than one OTR is found for a student, they may be disqualified from receiving scholarships.



  • Registration: After OTR, students must register on the Scholarship Portal with their name, father's name, college, and mobile number. A registration number will be generated upon successful registration.

  • Filling Form & Submission: After registration, students must fill out the form with complete details, including income certificate, caste certificate, Aadhar number, bank account details, and other required information. Careful completion is essential.

  • Biometric Authentication, Verification, and Forwarding from Institute: Forms are authenticated biometrically by the institute. After verification, forms are forwarded by the institute.

  • Computerized Scrutiny: All forms undergo computerized scrutiny.

  • Verification from District Scholarship Committee: Forms are verified by the District Scholarship Committee. Students can check their status to see if their forms are accepted or rejected.

  • Aadhar Based Fund Disbursement: This is the final step for students. All students whose status is verified and recommended by the District Scholarship Committee will receive funds through the Aadhar-based system, credited to their bank accounts.
