UP Scholarship 2025-26: Online Application Details

The UP Scholarship program is an initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government aimed at providing financial assistance to students enrolled in classes 9 through 12, as well as post-matric students. Each year, the government allocates scholarships to eligible students, with varying amounts based on the class level. To apply for these scholarships, students must complete the online application form available on the UP Government Scholarship Portal.


From the academic year 2025-26, One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory on the Uttar Pradesh Scholarship Portal.

Eligibility Criteria for UP Scholarship 2025

Eligibility Requirements



  • Applicants must be residents of Uttar Pradesh.


  • Current enrollment in a school, college, or institute is required.


  • Students in classes 9 and 10 can apply for Pre Matric scholarships.


  • Students in classes 11 and 12 are eligible for Post Matric scholarships.


  • Other students can apply for Post Matric scholarships excluding Inter.


  • Aadhar card must be linked to the student's bank account.


  • Previous examination must have been passed.

Steps to Apply for UP Scholarship 2025-26


OTR: One Time Registration (OTR) is essential for applying through the UP Scholarship Portal.


Registration Steps:


Once OTR is generated, the OTR Number will be displayed and sent to the registered mobile number, allowing students to apply for the scholarship.


The process involves three steps:



  • A. Mobile Number Authentication.


  • B. Aadhaar e-KYC.


  • C. OTR Number Generation.



Only one OTR Number is permitted per student:


If multiple OTRs are found for a student, they may face disqualification from receiving scholarships.



  • Registration: After OTR, students must register on the Scholarship Portal with their name, father's name, college, and mobile number. A registration number will be generated upon successful registration.


  • Form Filling & Submission: Students must fill out the form with complete details, including income certificate, caste certificate, Aadhar number, bank account details, and other necessary information. Careful attention is required to avoid errors.


  • Biometric Authentication and Verification: The institute will authenticate the forms biometrically. After verification, the forms will be forwarded by the institute.


  • Computerized Scrutiny: All forms will undergo computerized scrutiny.


  • Verification by District Scholarship Committee: The forms will be verified by the District Scholarship Committee, where students can check the status of their applications.


  • Aadhar-Based Fund Disbursement: This is the final step where funds are transferred to the bank accounts of students whose applications are verified and recommended by the District Scholarship Committee.
