Power Outage Disrupts NEET-PG 2026 Exam in Jaipur



During the NEET-PG 2026 examination at the Sitapura center in Jaipur, a sudden power failure caused significant disruption. This incident affected the computer-based testing system, leading to frustration among the candidates. A total of 311 students at the Sitapura iON Digital Zone (iDZ) faced this unexpected issue. Following the outage, candidates expressed their dissatisfaction and raised concerns about the exam arrangements. Out of 2.73 lakh registered candidates, approximately 2.65 lakh participated in the NEET-PG 2026 exam across 1,111 centers. However, the examination could not be completed at two specific iON Digital Zone centers (41682 & 41683) in Sitapura due to the power failure impacting TCS systems. A re-examination for those affected is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

Exam Commences on Schedule Amid Power Issues

The NEET-PG exam at the Sitapura iON Digital Zone (iDZ) began as planned, running from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Unfortunately, a sudden power outage occurred during the exam, causing distress among the candidates. Given that it was a computer-based test, the power supply was crucial for the examination process.


Candidates Voice Their Concerns

With 311 candidates present at the Sitapura center, dissatisfaction grew after the power outage. Many voiced their concerns regarding the exam arrangements, leading to unrest and a surge of candidates at the site. They feared that the power interruption could negatively impact their performance.


NEET-PG 2026 Conducted at Multiple Centers

The NEET-PG 2026 examination is being held at 15 centers in Jaipur, with about 8,370 candidates participating. The exam is structured as a computer-based test from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Following the power outage at the Sitapura center, candidates urged the administration to address the issue and ensure a smooth examination process.


Exam Difficulty Level and Other Issues

Candidates exiting the NEET-PG exam rated the difficulty level of the paper as easy to moderate. Some students at the ION Digital exam center in Noida's Sector-62 also reported discomfort due to heat during the test. The exam was conducted in a single shift from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and most questions were deemed to be of standard difficulty.


Additionally, some candidates encountered challenges with biometric verification at the exam center. Several faced issues with biometric scans, leading to identification through facial recognition technology. After the exam, candidates also reported discomfort due to the heat at the center.
