Northern Railway Apprentice Recruitment Announcement
The Railway Recruitment Cell of Northern Railway (RRC NR) has revealed plans to recruit 4,651 apprentices. The online application window will open on November 11, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications until December 11, 2026. This recruitment drive is associated with advertisement number RRC/NR/03/2026/Act Apprentice, covering vacancies in the Delhi, Lucknow, Firozpur, Moradabad, Ambala, and Jammu clusters. Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have completed their 10th grade from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Additionally, an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an NCVT or SCVT recognized institution is required. Results for both the 10th grade and ITI must be declared by November 6, 2026. Candidates whose results are pending by this date will not be eligible to apply. Applications should be made for clusters and units where vacancies for their specific ITI trade exist.
Age Limit:
As of December 11, 2026, applicants must be between 15 and 24 years old. Age relaxation will be provided as per government regulations for reserved categories. SC and ST candidates will receive a 5-year relaxation, OBC candidates will get 3 years, and candidates with disabilities will have a 10-year relaxation. Ex-servicemen will also receive additional age relaxation as per the rules. It is essential to upload documents verifying the date of birth during the application process, as incorrect information may lead to application cancellation.
Application Fee:
The application fee is ₹100 for General category candidates and others, which is non-refundable. Candidates from SC, ST, persons with disabilities, and female candidates are exempt from this fee. Payments can only be made online; cash, cheque, demand draft, or money order will not be accepted. The deadline for both application submission and fee payment is December 11, 2026, so candidates are encouraged to apply early.
Selection Process:
No written examination or interview is required for this recruitment. Selection will be based on a merit list created from the marks obtained in the 10th-grade examination and the ITI course, with equal weightage given to both. The merit list will be determined by the average of these marks. Document verification will follow for selected candidates, who will also need to submit a medical certificate.
In cases where candidates have identical marks, preference will be given to the older candidate. If both age and marks are the same, the candidate who completed their 10th grade earlier will be prioritized.
