NMMSS Scholarship 2026-27: A considerable number of students in India leave school prematurely, often due to financial hardships. To address this issue and encourage students to continue their education beyond Class 8, the Department of School Education and Literacy, part of the Ministry of Education, has introduced the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMSS). This initiative aims to support students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.


Application Process

Applications are now open for both new scholarships and the renewal of existing ones. Eligible students are encouraged to apply through the National Scholarship Portal by August 31, 2026. This scholarship aims to motivate students to pursue their education after Class 8, and it is advisable to complete the application well ahead of the deadline.
