NEET UG Re-Exam 2026: Free Bus Services for Students in Multiple States
Free Travel Facilities for NEET UG Re-Exam Candidates
NEET UG Re-Exam 2026: In response to the recent paper leak incident, several states have initiated a complimentary travel service on government buses for students participating in the NEET re-examination.
This initiative aims to ease the burden on the numerous students preparing for the NEET UG Re-Exam 2026. Given the challenges students face regarding transportation, especially those from rural and remote regions, state governments have stepped in to provide free bus services. The original NEET UG exam, scheduled for May 3, 2026, was canceled due to the leak, and the re-exam is now set for June 21, 2026, with an estimated 2.2 million candidates expected to take part.
Let's explore which states are offering free bus travel for the NEET re-exam.
States Offering Free Bus Travel for NEET Re-Exam
Bihar, Punjab, and Haryana have announced free travel facilities in government buses for students appearing for the NEET re-exam. The primary goal of this initiative is to ensure students can reach their exam centers without stress or financial burden. Notably, students will not need a separate ticket; their NEET admit card will act as their bus travel pass.
Bihar Government's Initiative
The Bihar government has confirmed that students can travel free of charge on state transport buses for the NEET re-exam. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary shared this update on social media. This initiative is particularly beneficial for students traveling from rural areas to their exam centers, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their performance.
Punjab Government's Support for Students
In Punjab, the government has also introduced a free travel facility for NEET candidates. Students taking the re-exam from June 20 to June 22, 2026, can utilize Punjab Roadways buses at no cost. This measure aims to reduce the stress associated with long-distance travel to examination centers.
Haryana's Free Bus Service
Similarly, the Haryana government has announced a free bus service for students. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that students appearing for the NEET re-exam on June 20 and 21 can travel without charge on Haryana Roadways buses. This initiative is designed to help students reach their exam centers punctually and without anxiety.
