Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has revealed significant changes for the NEET UG 2027 examination. From next year, the NEET UG will be administered in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. This initiative aims to enhance the security and transparency of the examination process.


**Implications of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for NEET UG 2027**


Similar to the JEE Main examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will now facilitate the NEET UG exam online through the CBT mode. This transition will eliminate the complications associated with traditional offline OMR sheets.


**Exam Structure and Process for NEET UG 2027**


Students and their guardians may be concerned about whether this shift in exam format will alter the syllabus or exam structure; however, the answer is no. The syllabus and exam format will remain consistent with the current system. As in previous years, the exam will be worth a total of 720 marks, including questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.


**Issues Related to OMR Sheets**


In the wake of the NEET UG exam and subsequent re-examinations, the NTA has faced various accusations regarding discrepancies with OMR sheets. This new approach is intended to foster greater transparency in the examination process.


It is important to note that the NEET exam is conducted annually. Candidates are admitted to various undergraduate (UG) programs—such as MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), and AYUSH courses (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BNYS)—at prestigious medical and dental institutions nationwide. Furthermore, the scorecard is utilized for admissions to programs like B.Sc. Nursing and B.V.Sc. & AH (Veterinary Science).
