Typically, medical colleges begin this application process after their first batch has completed a medical internship, which occurs 12 months after the course concludes. Unfortunately, many students only realize their college lacks the ECFMG Sponsor Note after finishing their MBBS, particularly when they attempt to register for exams like the USMLE or the UK's PLAB.

For instance, Kalpana Chawla Medical College in Karnal, Haryana, has seen many of its MBBS graduates discover post-graduation that the institution does not hold the ECFMG Sponsor Note, despite having commenced its first batch in 2017. Additionally, several AIIMS institutions are also yet to secure this essential note.
