JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Date: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has officially set the date for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026. This prestigious national-level entrance exam is crucial for securing admissions into Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programs across 23 IITs. The examination is scheduled for May 17, 2026, and will be conducted in a computer-based format in various cities.


Exam Duration and Structure

How long will the exam be?
The exam will last for 6 hours, divided into two mandatory papers. Paper 1 is set to take place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while Paper 2 will run from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates are required to take both papers to qualify. IIT Roorkee will soon provide a detailed schedule, a list of exam cities, and an information brochure on their official website. The examination will be available in both English and Hindi.

Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2026 will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has already announced the dates for JEE Main 2026, with Session 1 scheduled from January 21 to 30, 2026, and Session 2 from April 1 to 10, 2026. This two-session format allows candidates multiple chances to enhance their scores before reaching the top 2.5 lakh cutoff.
