Jamia Millia Islamia University Integrates SWAYAM Courses into Curriculum

Jamia Millia Islamia University has made a groundbreaking move by integrating SWAYAM courses into its curriculum as part of the New Education Policy (NEP 2020). This initiative allows students greater flexibility in choosing subjects that align with their interests. The university successfully conducted end-semester examinations and entrance tests for over 280 academic programs, with around 20,000 students participating. Additionally, more than 1 lakh applications were received for various programs, with entrance exams held across 16 cities. The timely execution of these processes is expected to significantly aid the university's academic planning and future development.

JMI: Jamia Millia Islamia University has made a significant advancement by incorporating SWAYAM courses into its curriculum and examination framework as part of the New Education Policy (NEP 2020). SWAYAM is an online educational platform initiated by the Government of India, offering a variety of courses across different subjects.


University officials have confirmed that they successfully conducted end-semester examinations and entrance tests for over 280 academic programs within the designated timeline.


**Timely Completion of Exams for 20,000 Students**


The integration of SWAYAM courses marks a pivotal shift under the New Education Policy, allowing students more flexibility in selecting subjects that align with their interests and needs.


The semester examinations for more than 280 Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), diploma, and certificate courses took place from May 2 to May 25, with around 20,000 students participating.


The Office of the Controller of Examinations provided essential guidelines (SOPs) for both students and faculty, ensuring prompt evaluation and submission of answer sheets. As a result, approximately 800 examination results were announced on time, allowing students to apply for higher education or jobs without delays.


**Entrance Exams for Over One Lakh Applications in 16 Cities**


The university has successfully completed the entrance examination process for over 280 academic programs for the 2026-27 academic session.


Entrance exams were also conducted for PhD programs and the Civil Services coaching program offered by the Residential Coaching Academy.


More than 1 lakh applications were received for admission to various Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), diploma, and certificate programs.


Entrance examinations took place in 16 cities, including Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Srinagar, Jammu, Jaipur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bhopal, Dehradun, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Ranchi. Admission to 25 programs will be based on CUET-UG scores.


For B.Tech programs, admissions will rely on JEE (Main) 2026 rankings, while B.Arch admissions will be determined by NATA 2026 rankings.


The Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP B.Ed) admissions will be based on NCET 2026 results.


The university has initiated the process of announcing admission results. Entrance examinations were also held in five cities for Classes 6, 9, and 11 in the university's schools.


Over 53,500 applications were submitted for the school entrance examinations.


Controller of Examinations Ehteshamul Haque noted that the university managed to conduct end-semester examinations and admission tests almost concurrently through effective planning and resource utilization. He highlighted that enhanced security measures, including metal detectors at all admission test centers, were implemented this year to prevent impersonation and malpractice. Vice-Chancellor Mazhar Asif emphasized that the timely execution of examinations and admissions, along with the swift declaration of results, will greatly support the university's academic planning and future growth.
