India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: The Department of Posts has issued a fresh notification regarding the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) for the year 2026, outlining the available vacancies across different postal circles. A total of 23,757 positions will be filled, including Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Gramin Dak Sevak roles. The Maharashtra Postal Circle leads with the highest number of vacancies at 2,297, followed by Tamil Nadu with 2,118 and Uttar Pradesh with 1,691. Other notable vacancies include West Bengal (1,619), Madhya Pradesh (1,450), Jharkhand (1,379), Kerala (1,373), North East (1,354), Odisha (1,353), Karnataka (1,116), and Bihar (1,098).

Application Process Details

**Application Timeline:**
The online application process will start on August 31 and will be open until September 19, 2026. The fee payment window will be available from 5:00 PM on September 2 to 5:00 PM on September 21. Additionally, a correction window for applications will be accessible from September 23 to September 24, 2026.

**Application Fee:**
Candidates from the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹100. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD categories, as well as women and transwomen, are exempt from this fee.

Eligibility Criteria
