IGNOU: Students who have completed a four-year undergraduate (Honours) program can now pursue a master's degree more efficiently. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced a new framework allowing a one-year master's degree through online and distance learning after completing a four-year undergraduate course. Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is the first institution in India to offer nine new master's degree programs under this initiative, starting in 2026.
