Impact of Global Conflict on Education

The ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States is rapidly altering global conditions, significantly affecting the lives of everyday citizens. Many individuals find themselves trapped in war-affected areas, and the education of children is also suffering due to the closure of schools and colleges. In response to these challenging circumstances, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made a significant announcement. Given the current situation stemming from the US-Iran conflict, the Board has decided to cancel all Class 12 board examinations scheduled in various Middle Eastern countries.

Details of the Examination Cancellation

The CBSE has confirmed that all Class 12 exams planned between March 16 and April 10, 2026, in countries such as Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia will not take place. The Board cited the ongoing conflict as the reason for this decision, stating that conducting examinations in these regions is not feasible. As a result, the cancellation of these exams was deemed necessary.

Previously, the CBSE had also canceled all Class 10 board examinations in these areas and had postponed the Class 12 exams that were initially set for March 16. At that time, it was hoped that conditions would improve; however, the situation has worsened significantly. The Board prioritized the safety and security of students in making this decision.

Future of Class 12 Results

How will the results be declared?

The Board has indicated that examinations previously postponed through circulars issued on March 1, March 3, March 5, March 7, and March 9 will also be considered canceled. The CBSE will provide further details regarding the process for declaring results for Class 12 students in these countries at a later date.

Current Status of the Conflict

The 15-day-long conflict between Iran and Israel

Today marks the 16th day of the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Since the beginning of hostilities, both parties have engaged in relentless attacks, leading to the deaths of thousands, including several high-ranking officials. Many individuals have been forced to flee their homes, and the global tourism and travel industry has also suffered greatly due to the unrest in Iran. Despite the ongoing crisis, no nation has called for a ceasefire, exacerbating the hardships faced by the populace.
