UPPSC Announces Results for PCS Main Examination 2025

A significant update has arrived for numerous candidates aspiring to become administrative officers in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially published the results for the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Main Examination 2025. This announcement marks the end of a long wait for those who participated in the main examination. According to the results, 2,297 candidates have successfully qualified and are now shortlisted for the interview phase, aimed at filling 812 available positions.

**Examination Conducted in March**

The UPPSC held the PCS Main Examination 2025 from March 29 to April 1, 2026, across various centers in Prayagraj and Lucknow. Out of 10,284 candidates who passed the preliminary examination, this number appeared for the main examination. The Commission has compiled the list of successful candidates based on their performance and scores in the main examination.

**Details of the Recruitment Process**

The recruitment process includes 814 vacancies across 28 different posts. For two specific positions, selection will rely solely on written examination scores, with results for these roles announced alongside the final selection outcomes. For the remaining 812 vacancies across 27 posts, where selection is based on both written exams and interviews, 2,297 candidates have been deemed eligible for the interview stage.

**Legal Considerations Regarding Results**

As per an official statement from UPPSC Secretary Girjesh Kumar Tyagi, these examination results are contingent upon the final decision in Writ Petition No. 4253 of 2026 (Archit Shivam Mishra vs. State of Uttar Pradesh & Others), which is currently pending in the Allahabad High Court. Additionally, results for female candidates from outside Uttar Pradesh are subject to the High Court's final ruling on Special Appeal No. 475 (D)/2019, filed by the Uttar Pradesh government.

The Commission has posted the Main Examination results on the notice board at its Prayagraj office and made them accessible on the official website, uppsc.up.nic.in. Candidates can check their results using their roll numbers. A detailed notification regarding the submission of post preferences and interview schedules for successful candidates will be released separately.

**Merit List to Follow After Interviews**

In a crucial announcement, the Commission has stated that detailed information about candidates' scores in the Main Examination and cut-off marks will only be disclosed after the final selection results are published. Candidates are advised against submitting applications under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, for information regarding their scores or cut-off marks at this time.

For those whose roll numbers are listed based on their exceptional performance in the Main Examination, the opportunity to become administrative officers in Uttar Pradesh has become more attainable. However, the Commission has emphasized that passing the Main Examination and reaching the interview stage does not guarantee final selection. With 2,297 candidates competing for 812 vacancies, the competition remains intense.
