UP Board 2026: Exam Centre List to be Released Soon
UP Board Exam Centre Announcement
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is preparing to unveil the final list of examination centres for the UP Board High School and Intermediate Exams 2026 on Tuesday, December 30. As the examination schedule approaches, schools and students throughout the state are gearing up for this significant academic event.
Preparations Underway for Upcoming Exams
According to recent updates, the board is finalizing all necessary arrangements for the upcoming examinations for the academic year 2025–26. Additionally, UPMSP has directed all schools to complete their Pre-Board examinations by the second week of January.
Final Centre Allocation After Objections
Earlier this month, the board generated an initial list of 7,448 exam centres across Uttar Pradesh using an online selection system. Following the first phase of objections, a revised list was published on December 20, increasing the number of centres to 8,033.
In the second phase, the board received 3,053 additional objections from students, parents, school principals, and institution managers. Most complaints were related to the distance and accessibility of the assigned exam centres, with many students expressing concerns about centres located far from their homes or schools.
Collaboration to Resolve Issues
To tackle these concerns, UPMSP is collaborating with District School Inspectors (DSIs) to ensure that students do not encounter travel-related difficulties while attending their board exams.
Record Number of Students Registered
For the 2026 board examinations, the total number of registered candidates is notably high:
- High School (Class 10): 27,50,945 students
- Intermediate (Class 12): 24,79,352 students
This results in a total of approximately 5.25 million registered candidates, marking it as one of the largest state board examinations in India.
Changes in Centre Distribution
UPMSP has utilized an online process for determining exam centres for nearly a decade. However, this year's distribution pattern shows significant changes:
- Increased allocation of centres to private unaided schools
- Reduction in the number of government school centres
- Initially, 910 government school centres were assigned, but around 314 were cancelled by districts
- Additionally, 31 aided schools were also removed from the list
After addressing objections in the first phase, districts recommended an increase of 585 centres before the temporary list was published.
Comparison with Previous Years
When compared to previous academic years, the number of exam centres has slightly decreased:
| Year | Centres Initially | After Objection Review | Final Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 7,864 | 8,265 | +401 |
| 2025 | 7,657 | 8,140 | +483 |
| 2026 | 7,446 | 8,033 | +587 |
Despite the increase after objections this year, the final count is 107 centres fewer than last year's total.
Final List Release and Student Access
With the final list expected to be published on December 30, students will soon be able to check their designated exam centres on the official UPMSP website. The board will continue to address concerns to ensure a smooth and fair examination process for all candidates.
