For the numerous candidates in Uttar Pradesh aspiring to become educators, the first day of the Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET 2026) was conducted smoothly across both examination shifts. Comprehensive security measures were implemented to ensure a fair testing environment. Thanks to advanced technology and vigilant monitoring, 15 individuals attempting to impersonate genuine candidates were caught. This information was shared by Dr. Prashant Kumar, the Chairman of the UP Education Service Selection Commission.


AI Technology Aids in Identifying Impostors

The use of cutting-edge technology played a crucial role in preventing cheating during the examination, effectively thwarting the plans of the 'cheating mafia' and impostors. On the first day, the Commission's proactive measures led to the arrest of 15 individuals trying to take the exam on behalf of others.


1. **First Shift:** Seven impostors were apprehended during the morning session, thanks to vigilant security and AI surveillance.


2. **Second Shift:** In the afternoon session, eight additional fraudsters were caught as the Commission maintained strict oversight.


All 15 individuals were handed over to local law enforcement along with supporting documentation. The police are now filing FIRs against them and investigating further connections to this scheme.


High Attendance Rates Among Candidates

The Commission reported a significant turnout for the exam, reflecting the enthusiasm among candidates. The attendance statistics for the first day were noteworthy.


1. **Total Registered Candidates:** 807,636 candidates registered for both shifts.


2. **Candidates Present:** 684,614 candidates attended the exam, resulting in an attendance rate of 84.76%.


3. **Female Attendance:** Female candidates had an attendance rate of 84.69%.


4. **Male Attendance:** Male candidates recorded an attendance rate of 84.86%.


Examination Conducted Across Multiple Centers

The UP TET 2026 examination is being held in 60 districts, with a total of 955 exam centers established. The examination commenced on July 2 and is scheduled to continue until July 4.


AI-Controlled Monitoring for Enhanced Security

This time, no leniency was allowed at any stage of the examination process. An advanced AI-integrated command and control room was set up at the Commission's headquarters, ensuring real-time monitoring of all 955 exam centers statewide. During the examination, Dr. Prashant Kumar, along with other Commission members, the Secretary, the Controller of Examinations, and the Deputy Secretary, were present in the control room.
