The Supreme Court of India is offering a chance to secure a position within the nation's highest judicial body. They are currently accepting online applications from Indian citizens for 250 temporary roles as Junior Court Assistants. The selected individuals will receive a starting salary of ₹35,400, which corresponds to Level-6 of the pay matrix, along with additional allowances. Applicants must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university in India and have proficiency in computer operations. Furthermore, candidates should be able to type in English at a minimum speed of 35 words per minute.


Eligibility Criteria

**Age Requirement:**


Candidates must be aged between 18 and 30 years as of September 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC - Non-Creamy Layer), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Ex-servicemen, in accordance with Central Government regulations. Additionally, dependents of freedom fighters will receive an extra relaxation of up to five years.


Selection Process Overview

**Four-Stage Selection Process:**


The selection will occur in four distinct stages: an objective-type test, a computer typing test, a descriptive written test, and an interview.


Details of the Objective-Type Test

**Objective-Type Test:**


This test will be worth 100 marks and will assess candidates on General English, General Aptitude, General Knowledge, constitutional provisions related to the judiciary, Supreme Court Rules (2013), and computer knowledge. The test duration will be 90 minutes, with a minimum qualifying score of 50.


Typing and Descriptive Tests

**Typing Test:**


This will be a 10-minute assessment requiring a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute, carrying 50 marks. A minimum of 25 marks is necessary to qualify.


**Descriptive Test:**


This English language test will include comprehension, précis writing, and essay writing, lasting two hours and worth 100 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 50.


Final Interview Stage

The interview will be the last stage of the selection process, carrying 25 marks, with a minimum requirement of 13 marks to pass.


Application Fee Structure

**Application Fee:**


The fee for candidates in the General and Unreserved categories is ₹1,500. For SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Ex-servicemen, and PwD candidates, the fee is ₹750, plus applicable bank charges. Payments must be made online through the UCO Bank payment gateway, and the application fee is non-refundable.
