SSC Stenographer 2025 Final Result: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has published the final results for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ Examination 2025. The First Phase Tentative Allocation List (FRTA) has been made available on the official website, reflecting the merit of candidates and their departmental preferences submitted online.


Candidates who provided their online options and departmental preferences from May 5 to May 8, 2026, were included in the final allocation process.


Recommendations for Candidates

How many candidates were recommended?


For Grade ‘C’: Out of 232 available positions, 228 candidates have been recommended. Four vacancies in the ST category remain unfilled due to a lack of eligible candidates.


For Grade ‘D’: All 1,483 candidates have been successfully recommended against the total vacancies. Notably, many candidates from reserved categories (EWS, SC, ST, OBC) qualified under the Unreserved (UR) criteria.


Skill Test Participation

How many candidates appeared for the SSC Stenographer recruitment skill test?


A total of 8,624 candidates qualified for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ skill test, with 4,907 actually taking the exam.


For the Stenographer Grade ‘D’ skill test, 22,456 candidates were eligible, and 12,564 participated.


Final Allocation Process

The final allocation process considered only those 10,132 candidates who submitted their "Option-cum-Preference" online between May 5 and May 8, 2026.


Sliding Mechanism Process Initiated


This time, the Commission has introduced a 'sliding mechanism' to fill vacant positions and enhance opportunities for eligible candidates. This allows candidates to transfer to a preferred department based on their choices.


Shortlisted candidates must log in to the official SSC website from June 19 to June 22, 2026, to select their venue, date, and time for the sliding process.

Tie-Breaking Rules

What rules are used for tie-breaking?


In cases where candidates have equal total marks, the following tie-breaking rules apply:



  • Higher marks in Part-III (English Language & Comprehension)

  • Higher marks in Part-II (General Awareness)

  • Preference given to the older candidate

  • Decision based on alphabetical order of names
