NEET UG 2026: Physiotherapy Admission Guidelines and Cutoff Details
NEET UG 2026: Admission Insights
NEET UG 2026: To enroll in undergraduate medical programs, candidates must not only take the NEET UG examination but also meet the minimum cutoff scores. Notably, for physiotherapy courses, there is no cutoff percentile requirement. This crucial information was shared with state authorities by the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP). As reported by a leading news outlet, NCAHP has communicated to state selection committees, medical education departments, and universities that students are required to sit for the NTA's NEET UG exam for the upcoming academic year, but they will not need to meet a minimum qualifying cutoff during the admission registration process.
To qualify for physiotherapy programs, candidates must have completed their 12th grade with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Botany or Zoology, achieving at least 50% marks. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories, the minimum required marks are 40%. Additionally, proficiency in English is mandatory for all applicants.
NEET UG Requirement for BPT and BOT
NEET UG is also a prerequisite for admission into BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) and BOT (Bachelor of Occupational Therapy) courses. However, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, has reached out to Prime Minister Modi, advocating for the elimination of the NEET UG requirement for these courses.
Eligibility Criteria for BPT and BOT
BPT and BOT programs span five years, comprising four years of coursework followed by a one-year internship. To gain admission, students must have completed their 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany or Zoology), securing a minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates) and passing English. Furthermore, taking the NEET UG exam is essential.
