Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan: Admission Updates for 2026-27 Academic Year

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has wrapped up the application process for the 2026-27 academic session. Students and parents are now looking forward to the provisional merit list, which will indicate selected candidates and those on the waiting list. Key dates include the release of the first merit list on April 8 and Class 1 on April 9, with further lists scheduled for April 16 and 21 if seats remain. The admission process will prioritize students under the Right to Education category, followed by others. Offline admissions will also be available for certain classes. KVS Admission Process Overview



Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has finalized the application procedure for the academic year 2026-27. Students and their guardians are now eagerly anticipating the provisional merit list, which will include names of those selected for admission and those on the waiting list. As per the timeline, the initial provisional merit list for Balvatika-1, Balvatika-2, and Balvatika-3 is set to be published on April 8, while the list for Class 1 will be available on April 9. However, due to the Assembly elections, the merit lists for Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry will be released on April 10.


Registration and Admission Process

The registration window for Balvatika-1, Balvatika-3, and Class 1 was open from March 20 to April 2, 2026. Following the merit list announcements, the admission process will begin in phases. Students under the Right to Education (RTE) category will be given priority, followed by those in Service Priority Categories I and II, and then other applicants.

**Release Dates for Second and Third Lists**


If there are still vacant seats after the first list, a second list will be published on April 16, followed by a third list on April 21, 2026. In case the online application numbers are insufficient, KVS will initiate offline registration for students from RTE, SC, ST, and OBC (NCL) categories on April 21. These applications can be submitted from April 22 to April 26, with admissions scheduled from April 27 to April 30.


Offline Admissions for Other Classes

For Balvatika-2 and classes from Class II onwards (excluding Class XI), offline admissions will take place from April 2 to April 8, depending on seat availability. The merit lists for these classes will be released on April 13, with admissions occurring from April 15 to April 20, 2026.

The admission process for Class 11 will begin after the CBSE announces the Class 10 Board examination results. For current Kendriya Vidyalaya students, registration will start within 10 days of the results announcement, and the admission list will be displayed within 20 days of the results.
