Exam Schedule and Details
The JEE Advanced 2026, recognized as one of the most challenging engineering entrance tests in India, is set to take place on Sunday, May 17. This year, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is responsible for organizing the exam at various centers across the country. Candidates must comply with the regulations concerning admit cards, dress codes, and examination locations. The exam will be conducted in two sessions.
First Paper Timing
The initial paper will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the second paper from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates with disabilities will receive an extra hour to complete their exams. The test will be available in both Hindi and English, allowing students to switch languages as needed. The admit card will include vital information such as the candidate's name, roll number, photograph, signature, exam center address, reporting time, and crucial instructions. Required Items for Exam Center
Candidates are advised to arrive early to facilitate a smooth biometric verification and frisking process. It is mandatory to bring the following items to the exam center:
1. Admit card
2. One original photo ID proof
3. Two passport-sized photographs
4. A pen, pencil, and a transparent water bottle.
Prohibited Items
The examination center has a strict ban on electronic devices and suspicious items. The following are not allowed:
1. Mobile phones
2. Smartwatches
3. Bluetooth devices
4. Earphones
5. Calculators
6. Any form of communication devices.
Additionally, items like wallets, handbags, cameras, written notes, and geometry boxes are also prohibited.
Dress Code Regulations
IIT Roorkee has established specific dress code guidelines for candidates. Students should avoid wearing jewelry or metallic items, including:
1. Rings
2. Chains
3. Bracelets
4. Earrings
5. Large buttons.
Candidates are encouraged to wear open footwear, such as slippers or sandals, and are not allowed to wear amulets or charms during the examination.
