IISc Bengaluru Launches New B.Tech Programs for 2026 Academic Year

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru is set to introduce three new B.Tech programs for the 2026 academic year, including Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanics and Computing, and Aerospace Engineering. Admissions will be based on JEE Advanced scores. IIT Roorkee will conduct the JEE Advanced 2026 exam on May 17, with admit cards available from May 11. New B.Tech Programs at IISc Bengaluru



Students aiming for a B.Tech degree at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru have exciting news. The institute is set to launch three new B.Tech programs for the academic year 2026: B.Tech in Materials Science and Engineering, B.Tech in Mechanics and Computing, and B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering. Admissions for these courses will be based on the scores from the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) or JEE Advanced, along with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 counseling process.


Currently, IISc Bengaluru offers two undergraduate programs: Bachelor of Science (Research) and B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing. Admission to the B.Tech (Mathematics and Computing) program is conducted through the IISc admissions portal, relying on JEE Advanced scores. The institute emphasizes that these new programs aim to cultivate the next generation of engineers who will excel in research, development, and innovation.


Understanding EMI on Personal Loans


This year, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will oversee the JEE Advanced 2026. The examination is scheduled for May 17. Only students who have qualified in the JEE Main examination and are among the top 2.50 lakh candidates can apply for JEE Advanced. Candidates are allowed to attempt the JEE Advanced exam a maximum of two times within two consecutive years, and they must have completed their Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.


Availability of Admit Cards


IIT Roorkee has released the schedule for the JEE Advanced examination, including the admit card issuance dates. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards starting from 10:00 AM on May 11. It is recommended that candidates bring a photocopy of their admit card along with a valid government-issued photo ID to the examination center.


Exam Format and Schedule


The JEE Advanced 2026 will take place on May 17 in two shifts. The first paper will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the second shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. After the exam, IIT Roorkee will publish the provisional answer key on May 25, with final results expected to be announced on June 1, 2026. For those taking the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2026, registration will begin on June 1, 2026, with the exam scheduled for June 4.
