Students who have been eagerly waiting for their CBSE Class 12 results can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the Class 12 results for the year 2026 today, May 13. Students can access their results through various platforms including the official website, DigiLocker, UMANG app, SMS, or by making a phone call.
Results Overview
**Key Data Released**
This year, the overall pass percentage for the CBSE Class 12 examination is recorded at 85.20%, which shows a decrease from last year's 88.39%. A total of 1,507,109 students have successfully passed the examination, marking a decline of 3.19% compared to the previous year when 1,496,307 students cleared the exam.
In terms of gender performance, girls have once again outshined boys, with 88.86% of female students passing compared to 82.13% of male students, giving girls a lead of 6.73%.
Examination Registration and Evaluation
Officials have reported that over 1.7 million students registered for the examination this year, with more than 1.5 million achieving success. Notably, this year marked the first implementation of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system as a mandatory part of the evaluation process.
**Methods to Check Results**
Students can verify their results through six different methods:
- Official Websites: cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in
- DigiLocker Website (digilocker.gov.in) and App
- UMANG App and Website
- SMS
- IVRS: Call 24300699 for students in Delhi, and 011-24300699 for those outside Delhi.
- SMS Organizer App: Send "cbse12 (School Number) (Center Number)" to 7738299899.
Passing Criteria and Compartment Examination
**Minimum Marks Required**
To successfully pass the CBSE Board examinations, students must secure at least 33% marks in each subject, including both practical and theory components. In cases where a student fails in one or two subjects, they have the option to take the Compartment Examination to pass within the same academic year, thus avoiding a year loss. Applications for the Compartment Examination will be accepted post-results, with exams scheduled for June.
