CBSE Class 12 Answer Sheet Re-evaluation Process Begins Soon

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to begin the re-evaluation and verification process for Class 12 answer sheets on May 29. This follows the conclusion of the application phase for scanned copies, which faced delays due to technical issues. CBSE has received over 400,000 applications and is addressing concerns regarding the authenticity of its online portal amidst hacking allegations. Students can expect their scanned copies by May 27, with ongoing issues related to application fees and clarity of the documents.

CBSE Class 12 Answer Sheet Re-evaluation and Verification

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has wrapped up the application phase for obtaining scanned copies of Class 12 answer sheets. The board is now gearing up to start the application process for re-evaluation and verification, which is set to kick off on May 29. Initially, the board intended to launch this process on May 26, but it was postponed due to technical issues with the online portal.

CBSE reported that it received 404,319 applications for scanned copies of answer sheets, with students requesting a total of 1,131,961 sheets. Out of these, 898,214 answer sheets were made available digitally. The board assured that students who have not yet received their scanned copies will get them by May 27.

CBSE Addresses Hacking Allegations

In response to social media rumors claiming that its On-Screen Marking (OSM) portal was hacked, CBSE has firmly denied these allegations. A 19-year-old had purportedly claimed to have breached the OSM portal; however, CBSE clarified that the site referenced in these claims was not the official OSM portal but a testing site that contained data solely for testing purposes, lacking any actual student information.

CBSE emphasized, "It is important to note that the URL for the portal used for evaluating answer sheets is different; it has not been compromised, nor does it exhibit the vulnerabilities mentioned in social media posts."

Initially, the deadline for applying for scanned copies was set for May 19, but due to the portal's malfunction, it was extended to May 20. Although the application process eventually began, students continued to face challenges. Technical glitches affected the website, and some students reported being charged exorbitant fees for a single scanned copy, despite the actual cost being just ₹100. Additionally, there were complaints about the poor quality of the scanned copies, with some students noting discrepancies between the marks shown in the scanned versions and those on their official mark sheets.
