UPSC ESE 2027: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has initiated a significant recruitment campaign aimed at young individuals aspiring for government positions in the engineering field. The notification for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2027 has been published, and the application process is now open. This examination will enable recruitment for roles in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, with around 480 vacancies available this time.


**Application Deadline: October 6**


The online application window for UPSC ESE 2027 commenced on September 16, 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their applications until 6:00 PM on October 6, 2026, through the UPSC online portal. It is essential for candidates to thoroughly check their eligibility and all application requirements before proceeding with the form.


**Exam Schedule**


The Preliminary Examination for ESE 2027 is scheduled for January 31, 2027, followed by the Main Examination on June 18, 2027. This timeline provides candidates with sufficient opportunity to prepare effectively.


**Preliminary Examination Structure**


The ESE Preliminary Examination comprises two papers totaling 500 marks. The first paper, which focuses on General Studies and Engineering Aptitude, is worth 200 marks and lasts for 2 hours. The second paper pertains to the candidate's chosen engineering discipline, carrying 300 marks and lasting 3 hours. The content of this paper will be specific to the engineering branch selected by the candidate.


**Recruitment in Four Engineering Disciplines**


The UPSC ESE 2027 will facilitate recruitment in four primary engineering streams: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. The notification indicates approximately 480 vacancies, including 19 positions reserved for candidates with disabilities (PwBD category). However, the total number of vacancies may change.


Important Application Steps:


Candidates must first access the UPSC online portal to complete the required registration process. This includes generating a Universal Registration Number (URN) and filling out the Common Application Form (CAF). Afterward, candidates should select the ESE 2027 application and provide their personal, academic, and other necessary information.


Candidates are also required to upload their photograph, signature, and relevant documents. Following this, they must choose their engineering stream and examination center, and pay the applicable fee. It is crucial to verify all information before submitting the application. According to UPSC guidelines, once submitted, applications cannot be withdrawn or modified, making it essential to double-check all details prior to final submission.
