Overview of the Uttar Pradesh Home Guard Examination 2025
The Uttar Pradesh Home Guard Examination 2025 aims to fill 41,424 positions. This exam took place over three days, from April 25 to April 27, 2026, across 74 districts in the state. A total of 1,053 examination centers were set up, and the test was conducted in two shifts daily. The written exam was held offline using OMR sheets, attracting over 25.32 lakh applicants.
Competition Details
With approximately 2.5 million candidates vying for the 41,424 posts, the competition ratio stands at about 60 applicants per vacancy. On the first day, April 25, 635,856 candidates participated, while 649,435 candidates appeared on the second day, April 26.
Examination Stages
The UP Home Guard examination consists of multiple stages. The written examination phase will conclude on April 27. Candidates who pass this stage will advance to the Physical Standard Test (PST), which evaluates height and chest measurements.
Height Requirements:
- Male: 165 cm (General/OBC/SC), 160 cm (ST)
- Female: 152 cm (General/OBC/SC), 147 cm (ST)
Chest Measurements (Male):
- 79 cm (unexpanded), 84 cm (expanded)
Candidates who qualify in the PST will then take the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which includes a running component. Male candidates must complete a 2.4 km run in 12 to 14 minutes, while female candidates need to finish a 1 km run in 6 to 8 minutes.
Final Stages and Salary
After passing the aforementioned stages, candidates will undergo document verification. Those who are selected will have to pass a medical examination before receiving their appointment letters. The annual salary for this position starts at ₹20,000, with allowances adjusted based on posting location and duty nature, including night shifts.
