Resolving Ties in JEE Main Paper 1

JEE Main Paper 1: This is a computer-based test covering three subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, comprising two sections each:

  • Section B: 5 Numerical Value-based Questions



The total number of questions is 75, with a maximum score of 300 marks. Negative marking applies in both sections, and numerical answers must be rounded to the nearest integer.


How is the tie resolved?
If candidates have the same total NTA scores, their Mathematics scores are compared first. The student with the higher Mathematics score receives the better rank. If Mathematics scores are tied, Physics scores are then compared, followed by Chemistry. If ties persist across all subjects, the student with a lower percentage of incorrect answers relative to correct answers is prioritized. This accuracy check may also be conducted for each subject individually. If ties remain unresolved, all involved candidates receive the same rank.


Tie Resolution in JEE Main Paper 2A (B.Arch)

JEE Main Paper 2A: This paper is for the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program, featuring a computer-based Mathematics and Aptitude Test, alongside an offline Drawing Test on A4 paper. The structure is as follows:
