JEE Advanced 2026: The first session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 is tentatively set to take place between January 21 and 29. The second session is planned for April. Candidates participating in these exams aim for high scores to qualify for JEE Advanced, which is crucial for securing admission to prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs. Notably, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore will now also consider JEE Advanced scores for admissions, with preparations already in place.


JEE Advanced 2026 Date and Structure

JEE Advanced Scheduled for May 17, 2026


The schedule for JEE Advanced 2026 has been announced, with IIT Roorkee as the organizing institute. The examination will occur on May 17, 2026, consisting of two papers: Paper 1 from 9 AM to 12 PM and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.


Eligibility and Admission Process

2.50 Lakh Candidates Eligible for JEE Advanced


Only the highest scorers from JEE Main can take the JEE Advanced exam. A total of 2.50 lakh candidates from both JEE Main sessions will qualify, with only the top 25,000 gaining admission to IITs and NITs.


Admission to IISc via JoSAA Counselling


IISc Bangalore will now accept JEE Advanced scores for admissions. Candidates can participate in the JoSAA counselling 2026 to enroll in the B.Tech program at IISc. JoSAA counselling facilitates admissions to 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and over 47 Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), with IISc now included.
