Candidates who took the exam on September 13 can now verify their roll numbers. The competition was intense, with 3.16 lakh candidates participating, out of which only 14,261 advanced to the Mains, indicating a pass rate of just 4-5%.

In the BPSC 71st CCE, 13,368 candidates qualified for the Mains, while an additional 893 candidates were selected for the Financial Administrative Officer (FAO) position. A total of 14,261 candidates will now proceed to the Mains exam, which is being conducted for 1,298 available posts, including positions for DSP and SDM.

Notably, 211 candidates achieved scores exceeding 100 marks.

The Preliminary exam serves as a gateway; the actual Mains exam will follow. Candidates who pass the Preliminary will need to take the Mains exam, with the date yet to be confirmed. Structure of the Mains Exam

How many papers are there in the Mains?


The Mains exam for the 71st CCE will consist of three descriptive papers. The first paper, General Hindi, is worth 100 marks but is not included in the final merit list; candidates must score at least 30 marks to have their other papers evaluated. The second paper will be GS-1 (General Studies) for 300 marks, and the third will be GS-2, also for 300 marks. An optional subject, chosen during application, will be the fourth paper, carrying another 300 marks. Each paper will last 3 hours, totaling 1000 marks that contribute to the final merit list. Following the Mains, there will be an interview for final selection.
