Fadnavis has mandated that the re-examination of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), set for June 21, be conducted with utmost transparency and security. He emphasized that arrangements must be flawless to ensure that students face no difficulties.
The NEET exam, initially scheduled for May 3, was canceled due to allegations of a question paper leak. Following this, the National Testing Agency announced a re-examination on June 21, expecting a significant number of candidates to participate.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted that ensuring the integrity of the examination process is the foremost duty of all involved departments. He instructed officials to guarantee that security measures at examination centers are foolproof and that monitoring is enhanced at all levels.
Fadnavis specifically called for the operational status of CCTV systems at all exam centers. He stressed the importance of strengthening cybersecurity and urged officials to take proactive steps to avoid any technical issues or online irregularities.
Implementation of Strict Procedures
The Chief Minister insisted on rigorous enforcement of candidate identity verification at examination centers. He also directed that screening and entry protocols for candidates must strictly follow established guidelines, asserting that adherence to security standards is vital for maintaining the examination's credibility.
Fadnavis advised officials to keep open lines of communication with students, parents, and the public. He emphasized the need for accurate information dissemination regarding the exam through social media and other channels to mitigate rumors and misinformation.
Managing Information Effectively
The Chief Minister instructed officials to promptly counter any misleading news or rumors about the examination. He noted that misinformation could lead to unnecessary anxiety and confusion among students and their families, thus highlighting the importance of effective information management.
Fadnavis also pointed out the need for special attention to examination centers in Pune and Latur, as many students travel to these areas annually for the NEET exam. He called for additional arrangements and monitoring to ensure order during the examination.
Facilities for Students
The Chief Minister further directed that all essential facilities for students be guaranteed. Adequate provisions for drinking water, seating, security, medical assistance, and other basic amenities should be established at examination centers to ensure candidates can take the exam without any hindrance.
