Important Update for JEE Main 2026 Aspirants



The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a crucial announcement for the numerous students gearing up for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1. The agency has updated the exam timetable and issued the city intimation slips. Initially, the examination was set to occur from January 21 to 30, 2026, but the final date has now been adjusted to January 29, 2026. Candidates who registered for JEE Main Session 1 can access their exam city slips via the official website. This slip is essential as it informs students about their exam city in advance, facilitating travel and other necessary arrangements.


Details on the City Intimation Slip

As per the NTA's announcement, the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam city intimation slip is now available on the official website. Candidates can download it by entering their login details, including their application number and date of birth. This slip indicates the city where the candidate's exam will take place, but it does not provide the complete address of the examination center or the roll number.


Clarification on the City Slip

The NTA has emphasized that the exam city slip should not be confused with the admit card. It is solely intended to give advance notice about the exam city. The admit card for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 will be released separately and will include details such as the examination center, reporting time, and other essential instructions.


Exam Locations

The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam will take place in various cities across India and in 15 international locations. This arrangement aims to assist NRI and foreign students in participating in the exam without the necessity of traveling to India.


Updated Exam Schedule

The Paper 1 (BE/BTech) examination is scheduled for January 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28, 2026, with two shifts: the first from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the second from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The exams for Paper 2A (BArch), Paper 2B (BPlanning), and Paper 2A+2B will occur on January 29, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
