India Post has issued a recruitment notification for a significant number of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) positions nationwide. The application process for filling 28,740 vacant GDS roles will commence on January 31. Interested candidates can submit their applications online until February 14, with the fee payment deadline set for February 16.


Candidates will have the opportunity to make corrections to their application forms from February 18 to 19. The initial merit list for this recruitment is expected to be published on February 28, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates wishing to apply for the GDS positions must be Indian citizens and should have completed their 10th grade from a recognized board or institution. It is essential to have passing marks in both Mathematics and English subjects. The age requirement stipulates that applicants must be at least 18 years old and not exceed 40 years. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates from reserved categories as per government regulations.
