Delhi Technological University Unveils New Initiatives

Delhi Technological University (DTU) is marking its 85th anniversary by launching a series of educational and research initiatives. The university plans to introduce new academic programs, partner with international institutions, and develop industry-relevant courses alongside improved research facilities. These efforts are designed to promote innovation, startups, and skill enhancement, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, ultimately aiming to provide students with top-tier education and better job prospects.

Among the new offerings is an integrated BSc-MSc program in Data Science and Applied Statistics. Additionally, DTU will collaborate with the University of Houston (USA) to offer a '4+1' accelerated B.Tech-MS program, allowing students to access education of international standards.

**Online Certificate Programs**

The university will also introduce a double major in Economics for B.Tech students. In partnership with industry, DTU plans to provide micro-credential courses and online certificate programs in fields like Artificial Intelligence, Renewable Energy Management, and ESG & Corporate Sustainability, aimed at working professionals.

**Research Centers**

Future plans include launching a B.Tech course in Mechanical and Automation Engineering, followed by new B.Tech programs in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) and Quantum Technology. To date, over 1,000 PhD candidates have graduated from DTU, which has received ₹1 crore in funding from the Department of Science and Technology to create a Quantum Technology lab. The university has established several new research centers and formed partnerships with organizations such as the Indian Army, CSIR, and Bajaj Auto.

**Focus on Startups and New Technologies**

Two startups from DTU were recognized among the top six at the Delhi Startup Yuva Mahotsav, and another made it to Forbes India's 'Top 100 Startups' list. The university also presented innovative technologies, including a tricycle with a smart dustbin, and announced new technical and community projects aimed at rural development.
