CIL Vacancy 2026: Coal India Limited has announced the recruitment notification for Management Trainee (Mining) positions for the year 2026. A total of 276 vacancies are available. Eligible candidates who have completed their Mining Engineering degree and qualified in GATE-2025 can submit their applications online at the official website, coalindia.in, from May 8, 2026, to June 7, 2026. The selection process will be based solely on GATE-2025 scores, with no separate written examination required.

**Eligibility Criteria**


Candidates applying for the Management Trainee (Mining) position must hold a degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university or institution. A minimum aggregate score of 60% is required for General, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and EWS candidates, while SC/ST candidates need at least 55%. Those who have completed their degree or passed their final semester examination are eligible to apply. If academic scores are in CGPA, GPA, or CPI formats, a certificate for conversion to percentage must be provided.

**Application Fee**


Candidates from General (UR), OBC (Creamy Layer & Non-Creamy Layer), and EWS categories must pay an application fee of ₹1,180 (₹1,000 plus 18% GST). SC and ST candidates are exempt from the fee, as are current employees of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries.


**Selection Process**


Candidates must qualify in GATE-2025 to be considered for recruitment. Shortlisting will be based on GATE-2025 scores at a ratio of 1:3 for each post. In case of ties, preference will be given to the candidate with higher marks or older age. The final merit list will be based solely on GATE-2025 scores from the current year.


Candidates employed in government organizations or PSUs must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or Relieving Letter. The selected candidates' list will be published on the official website, followed by Document Verification (DV) and Initial Medical Examination (IME). Final appointment orders will be issued after successful completion of these processes.
