The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) of Central Railway has initiated recruitment under the sports quota for the year 2026-27. A total of 59 positions are available through this recruitment drive. Age Criteria:
The age limit for candidates is set between 18 and 25 years, calculated as of January 1, 2027. Candidates must have been born between January 1, 2002, and January 1, 2009, with no age relaxation applicable for any category.
Educational Requirements:
Qualifications vary by post level:
- For Level-5 and Level-4: A bachelor's degree from a recognized university is required.
- For Level-3 and Level-2: Candidates must have completed 12th grade or an ITI/Act Apprenticeship after 10th grade.
- For Level-1: Candidates should have passed 10th grade and possess an ITI qualification or a National Apprenticeship Certificate from NCVT.
Sports Achievements:
Sports achievements will be assessed based on competitions held from April 1, 2024, onwards, including participation or medals in events like the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and National Championships.
Salary Structure:
Selected candidates will receive salaries as per the 7th Pay Commission:

Selection Process:
Selection will involve document verification and a trial. The trial will allocate 40 marks based on sports skills, physical fitness, and a coach's evaluation, with a minimum of 25 marks required to be deemed 'fit.' The final merit list will be based on a total of 100 marks: 50 for sports achievements, 40 for the trial, and 10 for educational qualifications.
Application Fee:
General category candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 500, which will be refunded (₹400) after bank charges if they participate in the trial. For SC, ST, female, ex-servicemen, minority, and economically backward class candidates, the fee is ₹250, also refundable after trial participation.
